Request to Speak at Monthly Chapter Meetings or Annual Conference

Share Your Knowledge

SHRM Space Coast has been providing educational events since the 1950’s. The chapter is a conduit for human resources professionals to network and share their knowledge with others in the Space Coast area.  We invite speakers to help members:

  •  Enhance their professional skills
  • Gain insight into the latest HR issues and trends
  • Discover the newest developments in HR products and services
  • Connect with new sources and valuable suppliers
  • Share strategies for effectively navigating HR workplace challenges

As we consider content for our professional development opportunities, our goal is to provide balanced programming that meets the variety of skill and interest levels of our community and presented by speakers of the highest quality who represent the diversity of the SCHRA membership.  All of our events should be interactive and engaging, so we strongly recommend you keep this in mind when designing your presentation and the presentation title.

Speaker Benefits

If your content matches our programming needs and your program is selected, you will receive:

  • Complimentary program registration (for the speaker); meal
  • Recognition within SHRM Space Coast’s promotional and programming materials.
  • Recognition on SHRM Space Coast’s website and social media.
  • Professional exposure and the opportunity to share your expertise and experience.
  • Valuable feedback via evaluation scores following the speaking engagement.
  • If applicable, an opportunity to promote/sell your book with dedicated book signing marketing.

A Note Concerning Honoraria

SHRM Space Coast has a tradition of offering professional development programs that encourage innovation in the field of human resource management. We look for contributors who are willing to share their expertise without expectation of payment in the spirit of learning and networking, a purpose for which we were founded.

Selection Guidelines

SHRM Space Coast accepts submissions throughout the year for consideration. As we review and consider current HR trends, evergreen topics, and the needs of our Space Coast HR and business community, we will leverage our speaker database to search for relevant presentations.  Our consideration will include content relevance, clearly defined and applicable learning objectives, alignment to the SHRM BASK, tangible takeaways and effective facilitation of learning. We will evaluate and consider individual speaker recommendations, applicable feedback and ratings (if a previous speaker).

Submission Details

We ask that topics focus on one or more of the competencies as defined by the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (SHRM BASK), which identifies the key behavioral competencies and technical expertise HR professionals need for effective job performance. Additionally, we are also looking for submissions that meet the HRCI Business Credit criteria.  Personal development topics such as stress management, time management, etc., as well as presentations on HR related software products will not be approved by HRCI. All submissions should include a compelling description and at least three (3) actionable learning objectives.

The length must be a 45 minute presentation with 10 minutes for questions and answers.
